“As we head into the peak of the cold and flu season, it is essential to take care of yourself and the people around you. As a nurse, I have made healthier choices to stay fit and ensure that I don’t fall ill. Here are some helpful tips that you can also practice.
1. Sleep enough, even though it may be challenging with kids.
2. Keep yourself hydrated.
3. Find ways to reduce stress, such as exercising or going for a walk outside.
4. Move your body regularly.
5. Boost your immune system by taking supplements such as Zinc, Vitamin C, Elderberry, a probiotic, and Emergen-C.
6. Drink ginger, and lemon tea with honey in the morning.
7. Enjoy bone broth for additional nutrients and hydration.
8. Wash your hands frequently to avoid germs.
9. Change clothes and shower after work or social settings.
10. Ease congestion by taking steam showers. Nasal saline spray works too.
